Now I'm the kinda girl that likes unusual jewellery- at the moment
I'm wearing a diamante sparkly lightning bolt ring on one hand and
a custom made Jack Skellington face ring on the other- I have a
breast plate type necklace made in black plastic from Accessorise
that I adore because its strange- I like my jewellery odd, unusual
and very quirky (if it happens to be black, sparkly and skull like
then more the better!) and so I thought a few posts I'd dedicate
to my favourite stores for unusual jewellery and some of my top
picks and first up is Shana Logic (formerly Pixelgirl shop)
I adore this KaraLee Designs ring with a miniature silver toned
skull against a deep pink glitter background- its just so cute and
sparkly (and perfectly matches my skull earrings!)

February 11, 2008 - In My Bag
Karalee Designs necklace
Karalee Designs contacted me a little bit ago
and asked if I would be interested in reviewing their
products. As a lover of jewelry and someone who enjoys
doing product reviews, I happily agreed to! A few days
later, this lovely package arrived.
I admit it, I ooh’ed and aah’ed over the necklace. I
love red, I love cherries. I love jewelry that isn’t the standard
dime a dozen pieces you find in most stores and jewelry shops. The
necklace itself is very sturdy, with a chunky, solid feeling round
frame with a red glittering background that catches the light and
attention of others. The chain, while thin and delicate looking,
is also quite sturdy — it has held up to my son tugging on
it several times!

4. Karalee Designs: My dear, dear friend Karalee wears
a bunch of hats (figuratively - though she may wear
hats, but I don't think so) she designs stationary,
is a freelance graphic designer and makes jewelry. i love her pieces
(especially her hair
clips - even though one is named for emily and not for me) because
they are so fun adn young, but they are made really
well and are of a very high quality - these 2 things
don't usually go together. www.karaleedesigns.com and www.simplyserra.com.

Karalee dee, ta-da da!
If you are like me, you like a little bit of whimsy in your jewelry
and accessories and the designs over at Karalee
Designs are just full of whimsy. You’ll find both kitschy
and cute and bold and modern designs with just a soupçon of
whimsy throw in. Their designs have a je ne sais pas quality
about them that I think must come all the glitter and little beads.

From Shows to SEO: Teacher Starts Jewelry
Business by:
Larry Riggs
Karalee Serra, a graphic designer and former high school art teacher
in Massachusetts got the notion about a year ago that she might be
able to parlay the jewelry she designed on the side into a business.
“I took a number of jewelry classes while I was a graduate
student at the Massachusetts College of Art and I fell in love with
the jewelry classes and I have a graphic design background,” she
says. “So I kind of ended up combining my love for graphic
design and created a jewelry line.”

Mel’s flight attendant friends would bring her colorful
bracelets from Istanbul that she would then distribute to other
cancer patients at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Mel Simmons loved to brighten their day. When she died July 19,
2005, after a five-year fight with cancer, her friends formed the
Friends of Mel Foundation to assist in the fight against cancer.
The brightly colored bracelets are worn on many arms across the country,
as well as foreign countries, in honor of the woman who loved to
give to others.
